What type of metal is used in your garden furniture?

Our metal garden furniture is crafted from powder-coated aluminium or steel. Aluminium is lightweight, rust-proof, and easy to move, ideal for dining sets and chairs. Steel is heavier and more robust, offering excellent stability. Both are powder-coated with a weather-resistant finish that prevents rust and corrosion, lasting for decades outdoors.

Is metal garden furniture weatherproof and rust-resistant?

Yes, all metal furniture is powder-coated to create a protective barrier against moisture, UV rays, and temperature fluctuations. Aluminium is naturally rust-proof, whilst steel is protected by multiple layers of powder-coating. If the coating is scratched or chipped, exposed metal (especially steel) may rust—inspect periodically and touch up any chips with metal paint.

Is metal furniture comfortable to sit on?

Metal dining chairs are ergonomically designed with contoured seats and supportive backs. Many include cushions to enhance comfort for extended dining. Metal loungers feature slatted designs that conform to the body. Without cushions, metal can feel firm and may become hot in direct sun or cold in winter—cushions mitigate both issues.

Can metal furniture be left outside in winter?

Yes, powder-coated metal furniture can safely remain outside during UK winters. Aluminium won't rust, and properly coated steel is highly resistant to corrosion. Cover with a weatherproof furniture cover during the wettest months to protect the powder-coating and store cushions indoors. In coastal areas with salt air, rinse the furniture periodically with fresh water.
